After finding torn pages of religious book Gutka Sahib (containing Gurbani) on Naraingarh road from the fields of Bhattiwal Kalan at a religious place, Bhawanigarh, police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started investigations.

As per information, some residents informed that there was a religious place “Shaheeda Di Samadh” in the fields of Bhattiwal Kalan village on Naraingarh road. On Wednesday when residents reached there, they found that from one Gutka Sahib, all pages were missing, from second Gutka Sahib pages were scattered and torn while third book was safe.

“Residents should not place religious books without proper security. Such incidents are happening repeatedly as there is no fear of police among criminals. Cops must arrest the accused at the earliest,” said Harjinder Majhi, president of Darbar E Khalsa organisations.

Bhawanigarh SHO Pardeep Singh Bajwa said they had registered a case under Sections 295, 457, 380 of the IPC against unidentified persons.

“We suspect that the accused had come for theft as locks were also found broken and the accused also tried to break Golak. We are conducting a thorough investigation,” he added.
