Road rage: Family fate uncertain, kids unaware of father’s death

Date:

Chandigarh, September 4: The fate of the road rage victim’s family remains uncertain; his two sons, aged 7 and 9, are still unaware that their father is no more. The victim is survived by his wife and two children.

Victim Parveen Yadav, a resident of Sector 37, was allegedly thrashed on the road separating Sector 34 and Sector 44 by Col Manveer Bains, a resident of Mohali, on September 2. The issue of overtaking of a car led to an argument between the two following which the victim was allegedly thrashed by the Colonel.

A pall of gloom descended on Yadav’s house. Unaware about the tragedy that has struck the Yadav family, the children appeared quite normal. Victim’s aunt Manju Yadav said the two children did not know about Parveen’s death and they were under the impression that he had gone out.

“The children are small and we are worried about their upbringing,” she said. Both children are students of a private school in Chandigarh. Manju said Parveen and his wife were supposed to leave for Jalandhar on the day of the incident. “I will return in a while, you get ready” were the last words of Parveen to his wife on the day of the incident. However, little did she know that he would never return, Manju said.

Parveen Yadav’s autopsy was conducted on Sunday. However, the police are claiming that the cause of the death is yet to ascertained. DSP (South) Deepak Yadav said no definite cause of death had been established yet. The victim, a resident of Sector 37, was allegedly thrashed on the road separating Sector 34 and Sector 44 by Col Manveer Bains, a resident of Mohali, on September 2.
