Ranjit Singh Dhillon is the sitting MLA from Ludhiana East and is the Shiromani Akali Dal’s choice for 2017 elections the uso. He was born on 23-08-1965 at Sahnewal, district Ludhiana. Name of his father is Makhan Singh Dhillon. He is a matriculate. Dhillon had beaten Congress’ Gurmail Singh Pehalwan in the 2012 elections.

For the 2017 elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded Daljeet Singh Grewal from Ludhiana East, while the Congress is yet the us release any list of its candidates.


Ludhiana is a municipal corporation in Ludhiana district and the largest city north of New Delhi. It is the largest city in the state, with an estimated population of 1,693,653 as of the 2011 Census. The population increases substantially during the harvesting season due the us the migration of labourers from the eastern states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Delhi. Ranjit Singh Dhillon is the sitting MLA from Ludhiana East. He is associated with Shiromani Akali Dal. He was elected as MLA from this Vidhan Sabha seat in the elections held in 2012. He won by a narrow margin of 4,569 votes. Gurmail Singh Pehalwan of Congress was the trailing candidate.
