Punjab Cong wants to create atmosphere of terror before elections like BJP: Cheema

Date:

Chandigarh, July 23

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Congress, like the BJP, was creating fear among the people during the elections and using Pakistan-Khalistan as a weapon. But this time the people of Punjab will not be lured by such things. During a press conference held at the party headquarters here on Friday, Harpal Singh Cheema slammed the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and the Congress and denied the allegations of Captain that the Aam Aadmi Party had ties with Pakistan. While targeting Captain Amarinder Singh, Harpal Singh Cheema said, “That person is making sarcastic remarks about relations with Pakistan, whose own Pakistan relation is known to the whole world.”

Harpal Singh Cheema further said, “Captain should not force us to go to ‘Chiku’ and ‘Sitaphal’. We do not want to embarrass the family members of Moti Mahal and the respected Punjabis by telling who is the Pakistani Begum and what is her relationship with the Pakistan military and intelligence agencies? Therefore, Captain Amarinder Singh should refrain from creating an atmosphere of fear and terror among the people of the state under the guise of Pakistan or terrorism and must fulfill the promises, in the remaining few months in a cordial manner; which he had made by holding Sri Gutka Sahib in his hands, because this time (2022), the people will demand an account of every page of the Congress Manifesto.”

The LoP further said that a few days back Captain Amarinder Singh was saying that Navjot Singh Sidhu had met the Aam Aadmi Party leaders. While today, in the coronation celebrations of the same Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Punjab Congress chief; Captain was making baseless remarks about AAP’s relation with Pakistan. Harpal Singh Cheema said that Captain Amarinder Singh had lost his sanity due to public outrage caused by four-and-a-half years of useless rule and bad condition of the Congress party and should now retire from power and politics on his own; otherwise, in 2022, the people of Punjab will oust Captain and the entire Congress. He said that in fact Captain Amarinder Singh by taking the name of Pakistan was reminding the links with General Bajwa and the closeness of Pakistan’s Prime Minister with Sidhu in the coronation ceremony.

Sidhu’s actions seemed weird: Cheema

Replying to a question, Harpal Singh Cheema said that Navjot Singh Sidhu’s actions during the coronation celebrations seemed strange; it was clear that Sidhu’s mental balance was disturbed. Replying to another question, Cheema said that when Navjot Singh Sidhu and party would go in public for four days, the ground reality and the questions of the people will blow away both the celebrations and the enthusiasm. “Even Sidhu admitted today that their (Congress) government could not do anything for Punjab during the last four and a half years,” he added.

Cheema said that when Navjot Singh Sidhu for the sake of chair was meeting and greeting with the MLAs, ministers and the Congress leaders involved in the ‘mafia’, it was then that the people realized that Navjot Singh Sidhu was not benevolent of Punjab; but had a blind appetite for the chair. He questioned whether Sidhu’s hug would wash away the sins of the Congressmen involved in the mafia.
