Punjab CM unveils ‘Enable Startup Track Acceleration’ programme

Date:

Chandigarh, December 6: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday launched the Enable Startup Track Acceleration (ESTAC) programme, during the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit-2019, with the objective of fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.

A spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that ESTAC is a series of start-up acceleration programmes created through a strategic partnership between the Punjab Government (Start-up Punjab Cell) and AIC, Indian School Of Business, Mohali.

ESTAC focuses on supporting technology-led, scalable and investible growth stage start-ups in areas of government-enabled and private sector driven businesses.

The first of the series of ESTAC programme focuses on Agri-tech startups while the subsequent ones will relate to e-mobility, grain procurement, electric metering and other agricultural innovations.

It will be a 6-month programme commencing from March 1, 2020. Ten selected start-ups will be given the opportunity to participate in the ESTAC Acceleration Programme and secure pilot projects with the government of Punjab, added the Spokesperson.

The application process for start-ups opened today and will end on January 15, 2020.

The Chief Minister invited all Agri-tech startups across the country to apply for this programme, at http://aicisb.org/acceleration-estac/, and witness the new Punjab, which will soon become the start-up destination of India. He also extended ‘call for partnerships’ to industry, academia and civil society in areas of knowledge partnership, pilot partnership and funding partnership for the ESTAC programme.
