Peel Police Investigating connection in multiple robberies

Peel Regional Police are investigating a string of robberies and attempted robberies of convenience stores and restaurants in Brampton through the evening Jan. 7.

“We do believe there is a possible connection,” said Const. Danny Marttini with Peel Regional Police. “The description of the armed suspect is similar at each location.”

A restaurant at Bovaird Drive and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton reported a robbery to police around 10 p.m.

Police said the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. “Weapon seen,” police said in a social media post.

There were no reported injuries and no suspect description for the incident.

A convenience store at Rambler Road and Kennedy Road in Brampton reported a robbery to police at 11 p.m.

Again, police said the suspect had a weapon and fled with money and product.

There were no physical injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as , wearing a black tuque, with black curly hair, dark hooded sweater.

The suspect fled in a vehicle.

There was an attempted robbery reported at 11 a.m. at Clarence Street and Ardglen Drive in Brampton.

The suspect had a weapon and fled in vehicle.

There were no physical injuries, police said.

Then around 11:45 p.m. a convenience store at Centre Street and Queen Street in Brampton reported a robbery.

A suspect was carrying a weapon and fled in a vehicle with money and product.

There were no injuries reported, police said.

Officers will be looking to review any video footage and interview witnesses, she said.
