Panjawa isn’t SC commission member, don’t be misled: Chairperson Tejinder Kaur

Chandigarh, February 13:Acting on the reports of misleading by former Non official member Babu Singh Panjawa, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairperson Mrs. Tejinder Kaur, IAS (Retd) today asserted that Babu Singh Panjawa isn’t sitting member of the Commission.

In a press communiqué, the Chairperson stated that Babu Singh Panjawa s/o Jeet Singh resident of village Panjawa, Tehsil Lambi in district Sri Muktsar Sahib was appointed Non official member of the Commission in 2015, but was removed from the post after he was trapped red-handed by the vigilance Bureau in corruption case. The vigilance Bureau had registered a case against him under section 7, 13 (2) of PC Act, 1988 at Ferozepur.

She further said that in view of the seriousness of the matter, action under section 4 (2) (F) of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Act 2004 was initiated against him and Babu Singh Panjawa was removed from the post of Non Official member of the commission on March, 13, 2019.

“Recently, it has come to the notice of the commission that Babu Singh Panjawa was still misleading people by presenting himself as a member of Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission”, said Mrs. Tejinder Kaur. She appealed to the people to refrain from making contact with him regarding the matters related to the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission.

“If Babu Singh Panjawa would found influencing people by introducing himself as a member of the Commission, strict legal action would be taken against him, she averred. Mrs. Tejinder Kaur also exhorted people to report the commission, if they found Babu Singh Panjawa still attempting to mislead them.
