O.P. Soni hands over appointment letters to newly recruited ward attendants

Amid the threat of Omicron and fears of a third wave looming large, the Punjab Health Department got a shot in the arm as Deputy Chief Minister Punjab O.P. Soni today handed over appointment letters to 308 ward attendants. Disclosing more about this recruitment drive the Health Minister said that to control the spread of covid and to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Punjab, Health Department has expedited the ongoing recruitment drive. He further added that government had advertised for 800 posts and today 308 have been given appointments in the first phase.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is the initiative of this government that these posts have been filled after a gap of more than 20 years. Therefore it is a giant leap towards strengthening of the patient care system in the government run hospitals. Mr. Soni also emphasised said that all these appointments are being made by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in a transparent manner on the basis of merit.

Mr. Soni while congratulating the new appointees in the Health Department asked them to discharge their duties honestly and diligently in these pandemic times.

Raj Kamal Chaudhary Principal Secretary Health, motivated the new recruits to work efficiently and they should work to strengthen the patient care system in the Public health institutions of Punjab and contribute in delivering quality healthcare services. On this occasion, Director Health and Family Welfare Punjab Dr.G.B. Singh, Director Health Services(Family Welfare) Dr. O.P. Gojra and other officials were also present.
