Mission Fateh: Persons with disabilities to get UDID card to avail benefits of govt schemes

Ferozepur, June 9, 2020:  Under Mission Fateh, all physically challenged persons will be ensure to have been issued ‘Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities’ – UDID – card by the Punjab government to enable them to take benefit of the various government’s schemes.

The Punjab government had launched a special campaign to give unique identity cards to persons with disabilities with the sole aim to create a database at the state and district levels of persons with disabilities so they can avail all facilities without facing any hardships.

Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner, Kulwant Singh said, any physically challenged person or child can get this card by visiting the nearest Sewa Kendra or by registration on the portal.

DC said, the total applications registered on this portal are 21,237 and uploaded applications are 2,455 while 1,098 applications for new certificates.

For issuing the card, against 1,387 applications received, 731 cards have been issued and 609 applications are ending while 17 have been rejected, he said.

He further said, with this card, every physically challenged person would be able to get all the facilities.
