Meet Hayer pats Cricketer Arshdeep Singh on back for Selection in National team

The Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has lauded the Punjab fast Bowler Arshdeep Singh for selection into the National team and congratulated him on behalf of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Hosting the cricketer and his family for dinner at Punjab Bhawan, the Minister said that the selection of Arshdeep would inspire other youth of the State to excel.

The Minister was impressed while listening to the story of the cricketer’s dedication towards the sport, family support besides his trials and tribulations and said that hardwork never goes waste. He also told Arshdeep that he himself desired to be a cricketer in his childhood as he was greatly interested in the sport which he often used to play.

Divulging more, the Minister said that now a days the players from Punjab are coming up on the cricketing stage in large numbers. He expressed hope that now Punjab would perform even better in the Ranji Trophy. The Punjab Government is undertaking every effort to boost the sports in the State so as to make Punjab number one in sports again in the country.

On the occasion, the Minister honoured Arshdeep by presenting a shawl to him.
