Jakhar, Sidhu lead state protest against fuel hike

Amritsar, May 31: As part of the statewide protest against the spiralling prices of petrol and diesel in India, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee head Sunil Jakhar, Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, some MLAs and their supporters demonstrated against the Union Government here on Thursday.

They submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner KS Sangha. Sidhu reminded the Modi government of its 2014 pre-poll promise of regulating the fuel prices. Cabinet minister OP Soni said fuel should be brought under the GST to provide relief to consumers.
