Educational competitions dedicated to the 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Chandigarh, 6 July: The educational competitions dedicated to the 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji have commence today after prayers (Ardas) in Gurudwaras.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Punjab school education department said that education officers of different districts, representatives of various committees, principals and teachers attended the prayer at Gurudwaras. The competitions will continue for about five and a half months from 6th July to 21st December 2020. These include shabd gyan, song, poetry, speech, playing musical instruments (harmonium, tabla, dholak, fiddle, dhadd), poster making, painting, slogan writing, calligraphy, P.P.T. making and dastarbandi.

The spokesperson said that these competitions would be related only to the life, philosophy, teachings and sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. Only government school students will be able to participate in these competitions. All the competitions will be held at primary, middle and secondary levels.

According to the spokesperson, these competitions will be conducted online and in the form of solo items to keeping in view the current covid-19 situation.
