A suspected case of Bird Flu reported in SAS Nagar; sample sent to Bhopal for confirmation

SAS Nagar/Chandigarh, January 15:

Exhorting the people not to panic with the reports of a suspected case of bird flu being reported from SAS Nagar, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said that the administration is on full guard and regular sampling is being done on daily basis to keep a tab on suspected cases of avian influenza.

He said that one suspected case has been forwarded to NRDDL, Jalandhar from where it is being sent to Bhopal for further investigation. The final report is still awaited.
