Two gangsters shot dead & two injured in a gang war

Tarn Taran, August 28: Two gangsters were shot dead and two injured in a fight between two local gangs at Goindwal Sahib town, 25 km from here, on Monday.

The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case under Sections 302, 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Darshan Singh Mann, SSP, and other police officials reached the spot.

The SSP said the deceased gangsters were identified as Gurjant Singh of Dhunda and Arshdeep Singh of Goindwal Sahib.

He said members of a gang, Gurlal Singh, Sahilpreet Singh and Prabhjit Singh of Hansawala village, came in two SUVs with their other accomplices and opened fire on their rival gang members.

The SSP said all the gangsters were involved in many criminal cases of looting, robbery, etc. The SSP added that one of the Gurlal’s gang members, too, was injured in the firing.

He said both gangs indulged in a verbal duel over their personal issues on Monday morning at a gym in Goindwal Sahib.

The deceased gangsters were standing near their car near Gurdwara Baoli Sahib in the town when the other gang members opened indiscriminate firing on them from their .315-bore rifles and .32-bore revolvers.
