Three killed as car collides with fuel tanker near Muktsar

Muktsar, February 13: Three youths were killed when their car collided head-on with a fuel tanker near Bhallaiana village on the Muktsar-Bathinda highway today. The tanker driver too sustained injuries, who was taken to a hospital by the passersby.

The deceased have been identified as Manpreet Singh of Chaina village in Faridkot, Jashanpreet Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, both residents of Jaito in Faridkot. Sources claimed that they were all studying in the same school and going to get NOC for the ill-fated car, which Manpreet had bought a fortnight ago.

The impact of the collision was such that Jashanpreet and Sukhwinder died on the spot while Manpreet died while being taken to a hospital in Bathinda. Some passersby said the car was moving at a fast pace. A tractor was used to pull out the car from under the tanker and later an earth mover machine was used to extricate the bodies. A fire-fighting vehicle was also stationed at the spot.
