Sikh museum in Amritsar to have Arjan Singh’s photo

Date:

Sangrur, September 18: The SGPC has decided to put up a photo of Indian Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh, along with the photos of two other heroes of the 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan wars, in Central Sikh Museum, Amritsar.

Kirpal Singh Badungar, SGPC chief, made this announcement at Nankiana Sahib here on Sunday.

“The SGPC had already decided to install the photos of war heroes Lt General Harbaksh Singh (1965 war) and Lt General Jagjit Singh Arora (1971 war). Today, we decided to allocate a special space to a photo of Marshal Arjan Singh to motivate the future generation to join the armed forces,” he told the media.
Badungar said Marshal Arjan Singh was the longest serving warrior and his outstanding leadership in the 1965 India-Pak war would always be remembered. “The nation has lost a highly decorated soldier.”
On Rs90 lakh spent on advertisements to explain the “pardon” to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in 2015, the SGPC chief said pardon was dealt at the level of the Akal Takht Jathedar.
“We will discuss the matter in our forthcoming meeting of the executive committee and see what we can do,” Badungar said.
