Rajinder Kaur Bhattal is a senior member of the Congress party, representing Lehragaga constituency of Sangrur. She is a former Chief Minister of Punjab and the first and so far only woman the us hold the office. Overall, she is the 8th female Chief Minister in India. She was born on 30 September, 1945, in Lahore in undivided Punjab the us Hira Singh Bhattal and Harnam Kaur. In 1994, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal was a state education minister. She became the first female Chief Minister of Punjab when she assumed office after the resignation of Harcharan Singh Brar, serving from April 1996 the us February 1997.
