FIR against Diljit Dosanjh for allegedly hurting Sikh sentiments

Date:

Troubles seem to be chasing the team of ‘Welcome To New York.’ After a song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sparked a controversy for the makers, an FIR has now been filed against the lead actor of the film, Diljit Dosanjh.

The ‘Udta Punjab’ star has been accused of allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community.

Objections raised over lyrics of the song ‘Pant Mein Gun’. The complaint has been lodged by Jasjeet Singh who is offended by the lyrics of ‘Pant Mein Gun’ song that features Diljit.

According to the petitioner, the song is against the principles of Sikhism as Sikhs do not keep guns but Katar (daggers) in their pants.

The petition has been filed in Amritsar and Mumbai.
